Dog Judge: Mr D Wedgwood

Firstly I would like to thank the Officers and committee of the Potteries Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club for giving the opportunity to judge this my first Championship Show and the exhibitors for letting me go over their dogs and a special thank you to my two stewards Archie Bryden and Norman Berry who were fantastic on the day.

There were a lot of quality dogs entered and not enough cards.

 

  VETERAN DOG 3 (1)

 1st. JONES`S,CH/IR/INT FCI CH LACKYLE DIABHAL OG, Just a few days short of his 9 birthday, b/br, not lost his head shape and expression with age, straight front, good spring of rib, short coupled, good strong backend kept level topline on the move

2nd.   FAIRHURST`S,YORK`S ONE TIME FOR FAIRLENIUM, b/br/w, good head, with dark eyes, deep brisket, well boned, good rib, good backend and moved well

 

   MINOR PUPPY DOG 4

 1st.  HARKIN`S, LISTCALL UNCLE BUCK IN HARKLINE, b/br, nothing over done, good head shape with neat ears, dark eye, clean lip, correct mouth, straight front, ample rib, level topline, strong hindquarters with good bend of stifle, moved well

 2nd. PLANT`S. KYRALOEBIS ITALIAN GIGALO, b/br, another quality puppy, nice head, neat ears, short muzzle, good bone, short coupled, good rear angulations, moved well, could and probably will  swap places with 1 in future

 3rd. JOHNSON`S. TILLCARR FIRE MARSHALL

 

  PUPPY DOG 12 (1)

1st. BRUTON`S. ZAKSTAFF BLACK BARON, b/br, striking puppy, typical strong head, neat ears, dark eye, good length of muzzle, correct mouth, short neck, well laid shoulders, enough bone, neat feet, level topline, short coupled strong backend, moved well, the overall structure was very pleasing. BPD, BPIS

2nd. CARTWRIGHT`S. ZAKSTAFF GAME ON, b/br, told after judging, 1st & 2nd litter brothers, what a shame they compete against each other in the same class, a lot of the same attributes 1, just preferred cleaner outline of 1 on the day, promising future.

3rd. DOLEMAN`S. KALHOL`S DANGEROUS DAVE

 

 JUNIOR DOG 17 (1)

1st. JONES`S. INNER STEEL OF FOYLEOAK, red, this dog was pleasing to the eye, nothing exaggerated, strong head shape with neat ears, dark eye, correct mouth, good front, up on his pasterns, neat feet, good spring of rib, good strong hindquarters which moved him up and the mat with drive

2nd. DAVIDSON`S. WAYSTAFF DUTCH MINISTER, br/w, slightly stronger than 1, nice head shape with good stop, dark eye, correct mouth, strong neck to well laid shoulders, short coupled, good strong backend, moved well

3rd. COFFEY & SCANLAN`S. ABORIGINAL ONE AND ONLY

 

 YEARLING DOG 5

1st. PRIEST`S. MINTMAR GOT THE LOOK JW, br, good head, neat ears, good muzzle length, good straight front, ample bone, level topline, good backend, correct tail carriage, moved with purpose

2nd. HYDE`S, SEDGBRED BLACK DIAMOND, b/br, slightly finer than 1, typical head shape, deep stop, correct mouth, deep brisket, up on his pasterns, kept his topline on the move

3rd. HIRST & BIBBY`S. TARAIEL DIZZEE RASCAL

 

  MAIDEN DOG 5

 

 1st. HERBERT`S. KEEPING QUIET, red, good head shape, dark eye, correct mouth, short neck, good front, neat feet, good topline, good   backend, moved ok

2nd. KERRY, WINWOOD & TUNNAM`S. ANTROBOSS TEMPEST NERA, b/br, compact little puppy, good head shape with dark eye, correct mouth, straight front, ample rib, good backend, moved ok

 1st. HIRST & BIBBY`S. TARAIEL DIZZEE RASCAL, b/br, good head shape, correct mouth, enough brisket, tidy feet, ample rid, good rear end,  moved ok

2nd. FAIRHURST`S, FAIRLENIUMS SNOW PATROL, w/pied, stronger than 1, strong head, dark eye, correct bite, short strong neck down to well placed shoulders, level topline, good backend, moved ok

  POST GRADUATE DOG. 14 (3)

1st. OGBOURNE`S. WELSHSTAFF CREDIT CRUNCH, b/br, another outstanding dog, nothing over done, typical head shape, dark eye, good stop, good length of muzzle, correct mouth, straight front, good bone, tidy feet, good spring of rib, short coupled and a strong backend that drove him up and the mat with

2nd. WALL & WEBB`S. MANARK PREDATOR JW, b/br, yet another quality dog, liked him from puppy, but for me is still missing that mature look that will finish off that final picture, when it comes he will compete with the big boys. Well balanced dog, good head shape, dark eye, clean lip and correct mouth, short strong neck, deep brisket, good rib carriage, short coupled, good hindquarters, moved well

 

  3rd. GREGORY`S. WILDSTAFF MISTER MACHISMO

 

  MID LIMIT DOG. 2 (1)

 

1st. FOLWELL & MORRIS`S. ROWELLSTAFF MR FERGUSON, red, quality red, cracking head with black muzzle with dark eye, good stop and correct mouth, good neck, well laid shoulders, ample bone, tidy feet with black nails, good rib carriage, good strong hindquarters and tail carriage, moved well

CWMCALON SON OF THE LORD JW, b/br, top size dog with substance, classic head shape and expression, good stop, good length of muzzle and correct mouth, well laid shoulders, straight front, good bone, good spring of rib, short coupled, strong backend with good bend of stifle, good tail carriage, moved well

2nd. COOCH& MAUD`S. GNOBULLS FUNK ODYSSEY, r/pied, attractive markings, compact dog, nothing overdone, great head shape, dark eye, neat ears, correct mouth, correct shoulder displacement good strong front, tidy feet, good rib and level topline, powerful backend, moved well

3rd. MARLOW`S, BRIGANAH NEW MOON

 

  OPEN DOG. 17 (1)

1st. EVENS`S. KALHOL DARK MARUDA, b/br, what a picture from all angle, this dog has quality and type stamped all over him, nothing exaggerated, stunning head, good stop, good dark eye placement, correct length of muzzle and dentition, clean lip, short strong neck leading down to well placed shoulders, deep brisket, correct amount of bone, good spring of rib, short coupled and good tuck up leading onto a power house backend which took him up and the mat with ease. Shown in fit condition. A credit to his handle/owners. Not a second thought about awarding him CC`S and RBIS

2nd. STEWART`S. CH RAPSTAFF THE GAME, b/br, another quality standard dog, slightly finer than 1, again nothing over done, striking head shape and expression, dark eye, good stop, correct mouth, correct shoulders and straight front, tidy feet, good rib carriage, short coupled with tuck, again powerful backend with good bend of stifle, moved well. No problem in awarding RCC
